Efforts being made to usurp parliament's rights: Ahsan Iqbal

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has on Saturday said that it is looking like efforts are being made to usurp parliament’s rights and to make it worthless.
The interior minister expressed his views while addressing a press conference in Lahore, and said it has been learnt that some influential persons have forced National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to open Hudaibiya Paper Mills case, and Chief Justice of Pakistan should take notice of it.
Taking about former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ousting, Ahsan Iqbal said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has reservations regarding the apex court’s decision, but it has accepted the verdict.
Iqbal said the case of Nawaz Sharif has entered in the list of those in which history will give a different viewpoint. The elected premier of Pakistan was ousted under such an article of the constitution in which there is even no right to appeal, he added.
The minister maintained that international media is also claiming that Nawaz was overthrown by a conspiracy, and people as well as legal experts have concerns over the decision as well. He made it clear that PML-N is united under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif.
Ahsan Iqbal commented that the incumbent government does not need the certificate from opposition or Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) that Pakistan has made economic progress. He also taunted on the rivals by saying that some people always spread hopelessness.
